Whether you’re a family fulfilling everyone’s wishes or a couple seeking an all-encompassing Lapland experience, these five days will create lifelong memories.

5-Day Ultimate Lapland Package
- 5 days
- Easy
- Minimum age:-
Day 1
Welcome to Winter Wonderland & Northern Lights Camp
Arrive Rovaniemi. We include a private transfer from the airport to your accommodation for a stress-free start. Get settled and perhaps visit Rovaniemi city center or the Arctic Circle center if you arrive early.
Evening:
Your first night, ease into Lapland’s rhythm with a Northern Lights Campfire excursion. Unlike a long chase, this is a relaxed outing: we drive to a wilderness location not far from town with open skies. There, a cozy lavvu (traditional Sámi tent) or wilderness cabin is set up. You’ll enjoy a Lappish welcome dinner by the campfire (grilled salmon or reindeer sausage, glow-fried coffee) while your guide shares tales about Lapland and legends of the Aurora. If the sky is clear, you’ll have a chance to spot Northern Lights right from the camp area (tripods available for cameras). If activity is low, no worries – you’ll have more aurora nights ahead. This gentle introduction lets you rest from travel while still chasing the aurora in a comfortable way.
Day 2
Snowmobile Safari & Arctic SnowHotel
Morning:
After breakfast, get ready for an adrenaline-filled Snowmobile Safari. This half-day snowmobile tour (~4 hours) takes you deep into the Arctic wilds. Two people per snowmobile (with opportunity to swap drivers), or solo driving for an extra fee. Zoom through powdery forests and across a frozen river. Midway, stop at a panoramic point where your guide prepares hot cocoa/coffee over a fire and you can snap photos with the stunning landscape. By lunchtime, return to base.
Afternoon:
Free time to relax (you might enjoy a hot sauna or short nap after the active morning).
Evening:
Venture to the magical Arctic SnowHotel & Ice Restaurant in Sinettä (transfer ~30 min). On this guided visit, you’ll tour the beautifully illuminated SnowHotel – see the ice sculptures, snow rooms, and the famous ice bar. Enjoy a warm berry juice (or a shot of Finnish cloudberry liqueur) from an ice glass. If you wish, you can have dinner in the Ice Restaurant or the warm Lappish kota restaurant (not included by default, but can be reserved). This excursion gives a fairytale end to your day. If the sky is clear, sometimes Northern Lights can be seen away from city lights here as well!
Day 3
Husky & Reindeer Day + Northern Lights Hunt
Morning:
Today is all about our furry friends. We drive you to Kuoksa countryside, where you’ll do a combo tour: Husky & Reindeer Adventure. At the husky kennel, meet enthusiastic huskies and mush on a shorter ~5 km trail (great for families). Then, directly visit the neighboring reindeer farm where you’ll take a peaceful reindeer sleigh ride (~1 km) through the woods. Warming up with coffee and cake in a quaint farm house, listen to stories from the herders. This combined program (about 5 hours total) efficiently lets you experience both iconic rides in one go, saving time for other activities. A soup lunch is included at the farm.
Afternoon:
We return to Rovaniemi by 14:00. You have a free afternoon to explore at your leisure. (Recommended: check out local shops for souvenirs, or optionally, we can arrange a 2-hour snowshoe walk up a nearby hill for panoramic views.)
Evening:
Tonight, as darkness falls, we embark on a Northern Lights Photography Tour – a more intensive aurora chase (if you haven’t seen good auroras yet). Our guide will take you potentially far (we’re ready to drive even 100+ km if needed) and uses expert knowledge to find the aurora. You’ll visit 2-3 locations if necessary. A professional photographer-guide will assist with camera settings and take portraits of you under the Northern Lights. With five days at hand, we picked this night for a serious chase because weather might have cleared by now. Hopefully, you’ll capture incredible aurora moments. Return late (possible around 1-2 am depending on distance chased) – but with a sense of awe.
Day 4
Free Day OR Icebreaker Cruise Adventure
We’ve scheduled Day 4 as somewhat flexible, understanding by now you might want either a day to rest or to add a big adventure.
You can sleep in and spend the day at your own pace. Visit Santa Claus Village if you haven’t yet (easy bus ride), check out museums (Arktikum, Science Center Pilke), or even go skiing at Ounasvaara. We can also arrange a visit to the Amethyst Mine in Luosto (where you take a snow train to a hilltop mine and dig for your own lucky purple gemstone) if you’re interested in geology and scenery.
For those wanting a once-in-a-lifetime experience, we offer a day trip to Kemi for the Icebreaker cruise. You’ll depart early (~7:00) on a transfer to the port (coach or private car). At 10:00, board the Polar Explorer icebreaker and spend 3 hours at sea smashing through the ice of the frozen Gulf of Bothnia.
Tour the engine room, stand on deck as the ice cracks, and perhaps best of all, don an insulated survival suit and float in the frozen sea beside the ship! A lunch is served on board or post-cruise. You return to Rovaniemi by evening (~18:00).
(Note: the icebreaker operates on select dates in mid-winter; we’ll confirm availability when booking.) This full-day excursion replaces any in-town activities for Day 4 due to its length.
Evening:
If you didn’t go on the icebreaker (or you still have energy after it), consider an evening at leisure. Perhaps treat yourself to a special Lapland deluxe dinner (we can book a table at Sky Ounasvaara panoramic restaurant or similar). Those who skipped Northern Lights earlier might try again tonight if needed, but generally we leave tonight free to avoid fatigue.
Day 5
Frozen Waterfalls & Farewell
Morning:
On your final full day, venture out to Korouoma Canyon for the Frozen Waterfalls Hike. This is an all-day trip into a stunning natural reserve about 1.5 hours from Rovaniemi. Hike through a snow-covered canyon with towering cliffs; along the trail you’ll witness several huge frozen waterfalls – true winter cathedrals of ice. It’s a moderate hike (we can adjust the length to group ability, roughly 4 km total on an easy route or longer if up for it). Your guide will set up a campfire lunch in the middle of nature. If lucky, you might spot wildlife tracks or even a resident Siberian jay coming to say hello. We return by late afternoon.
Evening:
(If this is your last night, you might depart this evening or next day.) We suggest ending your Lapland adventure with a relaxing note – perhaps an optional Arctic spa experience: soak in a private outdoor hot tub under the stars or enjoy a steaming sauna to ease your muscles after hiking. This can be arranged at your hotel or a spa facility (not included by default).
Day 6
Departure from Rovaniemi.
Our driver will take you to the airport or train station as needed. Goodbye Lapland! You’ve ticked off an incredible array of experiences – from Northern Lights to icebreaker cruise – truly the Ultimate Lapland Adventure.
- Airport transfers (arrival & departure).

- Arctic SnowHotel visit (entry and guided tour, transfers).
- Combined Husky & Reindeer Experience (half-day, includes husky 5km ride, reindeer 1km ride, transfers, and lunch).

- Dinners (except Day 1) and any lunches not mentioned (like if Day 4 is free, you handle that meal).

- Travel insurance.
Note: We strongly recommend booking accommodation early; ask us about partner hotels like the Arctic TreeHouse or Glass Igloos if you want a unique stay (not included by default). Private versions of each tour can be arranged (e.g. a private vehicle for Korouoma hike, etc.) for an extra fee for those wanting a more exclusive or flexible schedule. We can tweak the schedule (swap Day 4 and 5 activities, etc.) based on weather forecasts – e.g. do Korouoma on the clearest day, etc., since we have some buffer days.
