Safety, Weather & What to Wear

If there is insufficient snow, the ride may be conducted with a cart instead of a sled — so you still get the husky experience.

Warm layers — thermal underwear, wool socks, a warm hat, scarf — because Lapland winter can be cold. While the tour provides outer winter gear and boots, layering ensures comfort. This is standard for husky safaris in Finland.

Yes. In Lapland, many operators — including those offering 5 km sled rides — emphasize animal welfare and responsible practices as part of the experience.

Booking, Pick-up & Logistics

It’s recommended to book as soon as you know your travel dates — especially in high season. The operator reserves the right to cancel or reschedule if minimum group size isn’t met.

If the booking is cancelled 1 day or less before the event, the cancellation fee is 100%.

Adjustments & Special Requests

Yes — in addition to the standard group-based tour, there is a private version available for those who prefer exclusivity.

The standard is English; other languages (Spanish, Portuguese, Finnish) may be available on request, but availability is limited — inform this when booking.
