Day 4
Adventure Day – Husky Safari & Snowmobiling
Morning:
Long Husky Safari (e.g. 15km trail, about 2 hours mushing) for the ultimate dogsled experience, through varied terrain with stunning views.
Afternoon:
After lunch, gear up for an Afternoon Snowmobile Safari to a remote wilderness lodge. At the lodge, enjoy coffee and pulla (Finnish pastry). Day 6
Wilderness Exploration
Morning to Afternoon:
Head to the Korouoma Canyon for the frozen waterfalls hike (family-friendly version unless group wants a more challenging trek). Enjoy nature, picnic lunch by fire. Alternatively, in place of Korouoma (especially if some already did it or prefer less physical), do a Wilderness Survival Workshop in a closer forest: learn to build a fire, try ice fishing on a small lake, snowshoe short distance, etc. This is more participatory and educational. We can decide based on group interest.
Evening:
Farewell Northern Lights Hunt #3 – Last night, one final aurora chase to maximize chances. This could even be a Private tour upgrade as a treat (since it’s the last night, perhaps go with a private guide to a specific spot or even an overnight aurora camp). With three attempts across the week, the odds are high you’ll have caught the Northern Lights at least once – if you did earlier, this can be just a fun night drive and enjoying the Arctic night one more time.
Day 7
Departure Day
A week in Lapland comes to an end.
Morning:
Depending on your departure time, we can include a short activity in the morning: for example, a last-minute snowman building with the kids, a quick reindeer ride if someone missed it, or shopping in town for souvenirs. Transfer to Rovaniemi Airport for your flight. Kiitos! (thank you) and farewell with Santa’s blessing.
- All transfers (including to Kemi and other excursion sites).
- Tours/Activities: Santa Claus Village tour, Ranua Wildlife Park entry and tour, Husky safaris (short and long), Reindeer farm visit, Snowmobile safaris (daytime + optional night), Icebreaker cruise with floating, Korouoma hike (or alt. wilderness day), 3 Aurora night tours (mix of methods).
- Guiding throughout – many tours will be private or semi-private given the length (we can assign a main guide to accompany the family for multiple days to build rapport, which luxury travelers value).
- Winter clothing for all outdoor tours.
- Meals: Ensure at least one meal per day is included either in an activity or provided – e.g., daily breakfast is by hotel (not in package by default), but we include lunch on Ranua day, lunch on husky day, lunch on Kemi day, lunch on Korouoma day, so roughly 5-6 meals included.
All taxes and handling fees.
- Accommodation (7 nights) – to be handled separately. However, at this length, many may ask for a full package with hotel. We should be prepared to offer a quote with accommodation. We can mention: “Accommodation is not included in the base price, but we can include it upon request. Options: family-friendly hotels, luxury chalets, or even a night in a glass igloo at the Arctic Snow Hotel or Apukka Resort for example.” This allows upselling and serves luxury clients.
- Dinners (except the ones explicitly included like the welcome dinner).
- Flights to/from Lapland.
- Any travel visa fees, etc.
- Travel insurance.
Personal expenses (snacks, alcohol, shopping).
Arrival in Rovaniemi – private transfer to hotel.
Evening:
Welcome dinner and orientation. If sky is clear, short Northern Lights walk or campfire near hotel (light program, as many flights arrive late).
Remarque : This 7-day itinerary is very flexible. It’s essentially a private guided tour spread over a week. We can rearrange days (e.g., if weather looks bad for a certain day’s plan, we’ll shuffle activities – one advantage of booking a week package with us!). There is also some built-in leisure time so it doesn’t feel too rushed – important for families with kids and anyone who wants to also enjoy their hotel amenities. We mention that explicitly: “We design the schedule to include some downtime, so you can enjoy a fireplace evening or a short ski on your own, etc. If you prefer non-stop action, we can fill every day from dawn to dusk too!” This communicates that the package can be as relaxing or busy as they want.
Also, highlight any special experiences unique to a long stay: e.g., “During the week, you’ll have a chance to learn a few Finnish words, taste local cuisine (we recommend trying sautéed reindeer and Lappish salmon soup), and truly bond with our guides – you’ll feel like a Laplander by the end!” Such narrative adds warmth to the sales pitch.
