Going ice-fishing with snowmobiles is a fun way to spend a winter day like a local. This way we can move quickly to many different Ice-fishing spots to maximize our chances of catching fish and instead of spending time walking to the fishing spot, we can focus on just getting there quickly and focus on the fishing. During this Private experience, we will go to very private fishing spots to enjoy the calmness of the environment! 

Also if it looks like it’s an unlucky day for fishing, we can spend more time snowmobiling aswell!

We understand that most visitors might not have the right clothing for the snowy conditions and arctic climate. So, for your convenience as well as to guarantee maximum satisfaction and give you the best possible experience we will provide you with the above.

We also provide cozy beanies and mittens. Feel free to bring your own winter clothing but from past experience we highly recommend to use our high quality items.

Before booking, we would like for you to be aware of a few crucial things.

  • If you want to operate a snowmobile,  a Drivers license is required. (Does not apply to passengers)
  • Debe tener 18 años o más para conducir una moto de nieve
  • Operating a snowmobile under the influence of drugs and alcohol are prohibited
  • Always listen to the snowmobile guide’s instructions
  • Se necesitan al menos 2 personas para realizar este recorrido los días laborables y los sábados.
  • Se necesitan al menos 4 personas para que esta excursión tenga lugar los domingos y festivos
  • Solicitud de recogida en la dirección a menos de 10 km del centro de Rovaniemi.

What is the Santa Claus Village Tour?

Participation & Requirements

To operate a snowmobile:

  • You must be at least 18 years old

  • A valid driver’s license is required

  • This does not apply to passengers

No.
No prior snowmobiling or ice fishing experience is needed. Your guide will:

  • explain snowmobile operation

  • demonstrate safe ice fishing techniques

  • On weekdays and Saturdays: minimum 2 people required for the tour.
  • On Sundays and public holidays: minimum 4 people required.
  • If the minimum is not met, the tour may be rescheduled or canceled.

Safety, Weather & Fishing Conditions

Dress warmly for Lapland winter conditions:

  • Warm winter jacket

  • Thermal layers

  • Hat, gloves, scarf

  • Winter boots

Fishing success varies daily.
If it’s a slow fishing day:

  • we explore additional fishing spots

  • we spend more time snowmobiling in scenic areas

Booking, Pick-up & Logistics

Yes — pick-up and drop-off within ~10 km of Rovaniemi city centre are included in the price.

It’s recommended to book as soon as you know your travel dates — especially in high season. The operator reserves the right to cancel or reschedule if minimum group size isn’t met.

If the booking is cancelled 1 day or less before the event, the cancellation fee is 100%.
